Product Branding Services

awesome_logoA BRAND IMAGE may be developed by attributing a “personality” to or associating an “image” with a product or service, whereby the personality or image is “branded” into the consciousness of consumers. A brand is one of the most valuable elements in an advertising theme.

I mainly create CUSTOM LOGOS for all kinds of product branding that includes label designs, company and organizational logos, event logos, family crests, stationary templates, T-shirts even websites. The trick is to design a symbol which clients can easily associate with the company or the product placed in the market. Although your logo may be just a small link in the chain of brand creation, it is often the first impression a potential client has of your company. A logo must be engineered to attract your target market for long-term results, helping to drive your business forward.

“A great brand raises the bar – it adds a greater sense of purpose to the experience, whether it’s the challenge to do your best in sports and fitness, or the affirmation that the cup of coffee you’re drinking really matters.” Howard Schultz (CEO, Starbucks Corp.)

Product Branding Standards

What do I take into consideration when creating a brand?

  • Does the client have an existing brand they wish to advance or redevelop?
  • Does the project require brand creation from “scratch”, including new concept and visual direction?
  • Package / reduced prices can be arranged, if a set of design briefs are composed together i.e. Brand Development, Stationery and website?

A Good Brand :

  • Delivers the message clearly
  • Confirms your credibility
  • Connects your target prospects emotionally
  • Motivates the buyer
  • Concretes User Loyalty

A Good Brand Name Should:

  • be protected (or at least protectable) under trademark law.
  • be easy to pronounce.
  • be easy to remember.
  • be easy to recognize.
  • be easy to translate into all languages in the markets where the brand will be used.
  • attract attention.
  • suggest product benefits (e.g.: Easy-Off) or suggest usage (note the tradeoff with strong trademark protection.)
  • suggest the company or product image.
  • distinguish the product's positioning relative to the competition.
  • be attractive.
  • stand out among a group of other brands.

Logo Design Process

A logo is an important part of your business image, and as such, a great deal of thought should go into it's creation. How your logo will be used is also important. Will it just be used on the web, or also in print? If you intend to have your logo printed, will it be on a business card or huge sign over your place of business? How you intend to use your logo can also dictate how many colors will be used (having a 4 color logo on a business card can be very expensive to print, but works fine on a website or magazine ad). It is important that you put some thought into what you want your logo design to look like (the more input you provide, the quicker... and the less expensive, your logo will be).

The company style usually includes:

  • Brand logo - company name or conventional mark, including the names and trademarks related to certain goods or services executed in a certain graphic pattern;
  • Brand colors - a color palette present in all elements of company style;
  • Brand font - a font used for writing the company name in the designed graphic logotype or in the branding block, also used in the printed and advertising materials;
  • Branding block - includes the company name, the logo and/or the corporate slogan;
  • Slogan - the company's advertising motto.

The elaboration of company style concept is the first stage of creation the corporate brand style. I schedule a consultation with you to explore the type of business you have and your target market. Based on the selected sketch, collected proposals and remarks, we finalize the style and elaborate the design samples. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive three sample layouts to choose from. You are always welcome to provide your own ideas and concepts provided it is reasonable.

The final design will be delivered on a disk or through email in the format that you specify. You can request it in grayscale and full color, applicable for print and web use if needed. I could also provide you with templates for business cards, letterhead stationery templates/layouts, envelope stationery templates/layouts, brochures, leaflets, flyers, posters, manuals, signage, postcards, banner advertising, excel forms with automated computations, word or excel form templates depending on the package you requested.

What My Logo Represents

dudsonline.com logoI like the impulsiveness of curves and the predictability of lines. I like the attention that reds get and love the coolness of blues. I wanted my logo to start with the letter I for Iloilo or Ilonggo but I also wanted it to represent my name. I wanted it to be an exclamation point. So took all of the above and made something that is simple, easy and represents all I like.

How To Work With a Graphic Artist

lineartHere is a piece of information for you from the graphic artist's side. Most of them, especially the freelance ones (me included!), are terrified of never ending changes. These are little updates that quickly add up to a lot of time being wasted and usually a worse design than what you started with. While you may think your getting a better deal and more work out of the artist, what really happens is both of you end up with a relationship that is breaking down and costs that are piling up!
