My Love for Photography
Photography is an experimental art I've been testing for about 3 to 7 years. I took formal photography classes at the West Visayas State University Extension School just to learn the basics. I find it relaxing to shoot just about anything but now, I mainly shoot for webpage and print design. I leave the serious photography to my photographer friends who both have the time and equipment for it.
I bought my first camera back in 1990 ... a point and shoot Canon A800. I became a camera whore when a Muslim friend gave me my first SLR. It was an Olympus OM-10 with a manual adapter and 50mm lens. I learned a lot about photography with it but lost it together with three other manual cameras to a flood during the Typhoon Frank in Iloilo. I bought a point and shoot digital camera ... a Canon Powershot A400 about 5 years ago and have been using it when I need it.
I'm still saving up for a DSLR camera.

Photography
Photography, like digital graphics, rely more on technology than any other major creative medium. Not only do you need a thorough knowledge of your equipment in order to make the most of it, but the process themselves can influence the work you do. The word "photography" comes from the French photographie which is based on the Greek words phos ("light"), and graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush"), together meaning "painting with light."
